The Sky Blue Archive owes a great deal to the long list of kind volunteers, supporters and donaters who have made the website possible.
Pete Witherow has made sure the archive had a home and that many precious items were safely preserved when they could so easily have been lost forever, he has also personally funded many projects that have been essential in the ongoing security of Coventry City’s heritage.
Jim Brown and Lionel Bird have provided an incalculable amount of time and passion into researching the club, the people and it’s history and have also donated many rare and precious items from their own collections to enable the archive to be as complete as it can be.
Another Coventry City historian, Mike Young, who has been researching the club’s history for many years, has also shared his detailed records of all things Sky Blue and continues to be a major part of the project
Simon Cliff has overseen the (ongoing) sourcing of City Programmes to build as complete a collection as possible for the archive.
Jake Witherow who runs the social media for the archive.
Danny Bird, has helped with every aspect of setting up the website, the shop, admin and content.
Ian Tennison built and maintains the website and provides the design and kit illustrations for the archive.
Following a data loss in July 2025 the following people helped us input match data for over 4,700 matches, a huge task that has now been completed. The level of content we now have would not be possible without the contributions of;
Dean Lander
Roy Evans
Simon Campbell
Danny Bird
Martin Mulholland
Jake Witherow
Richard Hansen
Katie Stanton
Kevin Shannon
Darren Jones
Alastair Brown and Neil Wardleworth helped us enormously in the aftermath of the data loss with hosting advice and support in recovering what was salvageable, and keeping everyone calm!
Mark Hornby for his assistance and support over many years.
Mark Rainbow and his wife Sheryl for their help coordinating and running events in the Fan Village.
Dean Lander has kindly given us access to many unique match videos from his time as a cameraman at Highfiled Road, many of these are previously unseen and it’s a real privilege that through Dean we can bring them to you.
Lee Berdauskas who runs the brilliant MrViewSky YouTube channel featuring thousands of City match highlight videos has allowed us to link to his videos wherever possible on the archive website.
Jed Pattinson allowed us full access to his extensive collection of City programmes, enabling us to scan them and add the images to our match details.
Dave Bond also allowed us to scan numerous items of his vast City memorabilia collection including the sticker books and football cards in our Museum section.
John Clarke OBE for his considerable help and support to the Archives project both in the past and present.
Margaret Barnett and her husband Terry, City supporters and season ticket holders for nearly 60 years kindly donated a large collection of books, programmes, pictures, DVD’s and more.
Many thanks to Dave & Jill Hoare who kindly donated a rare bottle of white wine Blanc de Blancs, this being selected and bottled in France specifically for the 1987 FA Cup. The label has been signed by Dave Bennett and Steve Sedgley.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Mark Ogleby and his son Alex, who kindly donated several hundred programmes. Among them were 137 which we had not got. Several programmes were rare issues from the period when CCFC played home games at Northampton and Birmingham.
Jonathan Holmes, Tony Elston and Chas Atkins for the donations of various memorabilia.
Chand and Jay Patel from Central Press for their massive help with printing flyers, posters, cards and coasters for the Archive.
Many thanks to Chris Gowlett a Spurs fan. His father, William Gowlett, was a fanatical City supporter who in the 1960’s made a significant contribution by raising money for CCFC as the number 1 agent for the Sky Blue Pools. William collected many non-CCFC match programmes from the period 1940-1970. Chris donated these programmes which were sold to raise much needed money when the Archive was in its infancy.
Others who have helped along the way are Phil Arnold, Les Reid, Mark Browne, Claudio Cardellino, Rob Stubbs, Dean Nelson, Joanne Walmsley, Nick Wongsam, Steve Pittam and Richard Woodfield.
