2021-22
This was the third season of Hummel kits. Boyle Sports were the front of shirt sponsors for the second season, XL Motors returned as back of shirt sponsors. G&R Scaffolding were on the home shorts for the second season and Simian were on the away shorts for a second season.
The font and numbers were unchanged as were the EFL Championship SkyBet and gambling awareness sleeve patches, the equality message design was updated. The FA Cup sleeve patch was updated with the words ‘150 years’ to mark the competitions anniversary. City again did not wear Carabao Cup patches, sticking with their regular Championship set.
For the FA Cup 4th Round tie at Southampton City wore ‘a Match Worn Shirt’ patch, a sports auction company providing supporters the chance to bid to own shirts from the game with some proceeds going to charities.
The home kit was all sky blue with navy and white trim. The bespoke shirt had a Phoenix rising from flames at the bottom of the shirt. The Phoenix is a famous symbol of Coventry, representing New Coventry reborn out of the ashes of the old, and added to the City’s Coat of Arms in 1959. The shirt also featured a classic round collar, harking back to the style used in the 1960s. It also had ‘Sky Blues’ on the rear neck, “While We Sing Toghether’ on the inside neck and two tone details on the sleeves. The kit was announced on 9 July 2021.
City wore a poppy on their shirts for the home game with Bristol City on 6th November.
The goalkeeper kit was a black shirt and shorts both with white detailing, and dark grey socks with black turnovers and white details. The shirt featured a ‘dynamic’ linear pattern on the front.

The away kit of pink and blue halves again took inspiration from the past, harking back to a kit worn in 1889 by Singers FC – designed at the time to mirror the corporate colours of the company which the Football Club took its name from before becoming Coventry City. The history of the colours was acknowledged as part of the design too, with reference to Singers FC inside the waist hem and the year it was worn on the neck tape – plus the words ‘While We Sing Together’ inside the neck too. The shorts and socks were blue with pink and white detailing.
The kit was announced on 6th August 2021 and available to buy on 28 September 2021.
For the away game at Huddersfield Town on 11 December 2021 City wore the away shirt and shorts with the socks from the 3rd kit.
The away goalkeeper kit was, all yellow with black trim, using the same template as the home keeper outfit.

The third kit was an all white outfit with black details including ‘2 Tone’ tramlines, in recognition of the musical and cultural influence of the movement, on the City and Coventry being UK City of Culture. The shirt had ‘Sky Blues’ on the rear of the shirt and the words ‘While We Sing Together’ on the in the inside of the shirt.
The kit was announced and available on 21 October 2021.
A fourth kit was worn by City in 2021-22 – the ‘Ricoh Return’ Membership shirt which was produced for fans who purchased the Membership when the club was playing behind closed doors due to the Covid pandemic. The all white kit featured the distinctive architecture and roof design of the Coventry Building Society Arena, in a sky blue and dark blue colour, the shorts and socks were white with sky blue trim.
It was announced on 19 January 2022 the the kit would be worn for the home game against Queens Park Rangers on 22 January 2022.
