In February 2008 Iain Dowie was sacked after a defeat at Preston and coach Frankie Bunn and fitness coach John Harbin were put in joint charge. They drew their first game at home to Cardiff City and lost the following Saturday, heavily to West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup 5th Round. Chris Coleman was appointed the following week.
Bunn had been appointed first-team coach at City in February 2007, he returned to his old position as first-team coach following Chris Coleman’s appointment as manager. He left the club in May 2010 after his contract expired.
Harbin had been appointed by Dowie and had been on his staff at in 2 previous jobs after meeting on the coaching staff at Oldham Athletic. After City he linked up with Dowie again at Queens Park Rangers.
