Andy played 195 games in six years in the best Oldham team for years during the 1990s before moving North of the border where he had an excellent career with first Hibernian then Rangers. In 2001 he had a brief spell at Old Trafford when the Reds had a goalkeeper crisis and appeared against the Sky Blues in the relegation season.

City took him on loan the following season as third choice but with Kirkland sold and Hedman injured the 37-year old was called upon for a handful of games. His experience was invaluable and the team only lost one of the games he played. He eventually signed a one-year deal but a knee injury required keyhole surgery and he left the club soon afterwards. A double international for Scotland at cricket and football, winning 43 caps at the winter game. Sadly Goram died in July 2022 after a battle with cancer.
