Ivan Guerrero
Guerrero began his career with Motagua in Honduras, playing with the team from 1996 until Gordon Strachan signed him for City in 2000. An attack-minded left back he arrived with his compatriot Jairo MartÃnez. He started only three Premiership games, all defeats but was on the winning side at the Dell in a League Cup tie. His lack of defensive skills was badly exposed and although he played four games the following season he never settled in England and returned to Motagua in 2002.
In 2004 he joined Peñarol in Uruguay, before a move to MLS team Chicago Fire a year later. Guerrero has been an important player in the Honduran national team, playing during the 2006 World Cup Qualifiers. He was a member of the national squad who competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. In November 2007 he was selected by San Jose in the 2007 MLS Expansion Draft.
