Despite his young age Armstrong was a huge success in his loan season with the Sky Blues. Tony Mowbray's League One team of the 2015-16 season were top in November and really should have at least made the play-offs but faded after Christmas. Armstrong's goals were a big factor in the success and he joined the rare club of City players to score 20 league goals in a season. His composed finishing and chasing of lost causes pointed to a career at a higher level and he did go on to play in the Premier League with Southampton for three seasons and has been regular scorer in the championship for various clubs. Moved back to the Premier League in the January transfer window with a move to struggling Wolves
