Brazil's stay at Coventry was short and not so sweet. The Scottish international striker arrived from Manchester United in February 1986 as the makeweight in the Terry Gibson deal, having flopped at Old Trafford. Despite an impressive debut at Newcastle he failed to shine at Coventry and was sold to QPR at the end of the season and was forced to retire soon afterwards with a back injury after only four games. It was a sad end to a career which had started impressively at Ipswich where he scored 70 goals in 150 games and earned him 13 Scottish caps including appearances at the 1982 World Cup finals. A big money move to Tottenham in 1983 was a failure and Ron Atkinson signed him for Man United. For a number of years he has been a radio show host on Talk Radio and recently had a best selling autobiography, 'There's an awful lot of bubbly in Brazil'.
