Chris was a late developer and did not sign professional forms at City until he was almost 21. A tall, beanpole defender, he won a penalty on his league debut and played at Anfield in his second game but failed to impress enough for a longer stretch in the first team. After the arrival of David Busst and Phil Babb his opportunities were limited and he joined Peterborough in March 1993. His league career was brief but he joined Worcester City and had many successful seasons at St George’s Lane.
