Galloway arrived late into the professional game, being 3 weeks short of his 26th birthday when he made his debut for Derby. He scored 30 goals in only 76 games for the Rams, including 21 in 1923-24 when the club narrowly missed promotion to Division 1. After unimpressive periods with Forest and Luton and City, and finally a season of reserve team football at Spurs, he disappeared for 7 years and was playing works football in 1937.
