Coventry City 15th | Liverpool 1st (20)

A challenging first game for new player-boss Butcher who picks himself as a third centre-half. If Gallacher’s second-minute shot had gone in instead of hitting the post the outcome may have been different. Beardsley snatches it when Terry and Oggy hesitate, but it’s a fighting display.
