'Digger' Daley spent 20 years flitting in and out of league football rarely staying with any club more than two years. Billy Frith signed him from Crewe in 1958 and he was part of the Division Four promotion team, playing on either wing. Lost his place to Stewart Imlach and joined ex-City player Roy Kirk at Cambridge United. After retiring from the professional game he ran a market stall in Bedford for many years and lived in the Bedford area but suffered from dementia in his later years.
