Clive came on loan from Sunderland in the 2006-07 season and played in his usual position of left back as well as a ball-winner in midfield. He made his name at Stoke City where he made over 250 appearances and helping Stoke to promotion to the Championship in 2002 before a £275,000 move to West Ham in 2005. After just two games in a year in the Premier League he moved to Sunderland where again his appearances were limited. In 2007 he went on loan to Leicester but tragically suffered two heart attacks during a game at Nottingham Forest.Â
