Stephen Bywater
A loanee goalkeeper who signed for West Ham as a teenager and appeared against the Sky Blues in the 1999 FA Youth Cup final. A tall imposing figure during his spell under Micky Adams he was arguably City’s best keeper since relegation but was allowed to return to West Ham and replaced by Marton Fulop. Subsequently signed for Derby County where he had the best spell of his career - winning promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in May 2007. Spells at Ipswich Town, Cardiff City, Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall, Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers followed. In 2015 Stephen made the move to India with Kerala Blasters before coming back to England with Burton Albion for 4 seasons before retirement.
