Stockport County 18th | Coventry City 6th (24)
4,000 noisy fans make the trip to Cheshire and see £5m Lee Hughes score on his debut. Andy Kilner’s Stockport are poor and thoughts of an easy ride in Div 1 are premature. Work permits are awaited for Masinga and Safri. Hartson has left for Celtic and Hedman may go to Everton.
