This highly intelligent international goalkeeper (1 cap) was spotted by Notts County playing for NK Rijeka in Yugoslavia and spent four successful years at Meadow Lane helping the Magpies to the old Division One. In 1983 he was released by County and after a brief spell playing in Montreal he joined Bobby Gould’s Sky Blues making his debut in a 2-1 win over Leicester. After just 24 games his English career came to an abrupt end following two disastrous errors in home defeats to Watford and Stoke. Manager Gould publicly sacked him and although Raddy continued to train the manager did not forgive him.
He returned to his home country, playing one season for OFK Belgrade before going into coaching. In the 1990s he worked in Oman and later coached the Kuwait national team, taking them to the later stages of the 2000 Olympic football tournament. Since 2003 he has been national coach for Singapore and recently led them to success in the Asean Cup. A qualified lawyer, for many years he kept a house in Coventry and his son studied at Coventry University.
