A tall, physical centre-forward who made his name at Blackpool before he became Bobby Gould’s first signing in the summer of discontent of 1983. Made his debut in the opening day win at Watford but his performances were restricted by a mystery blood infection which saw him have his wisdom teeth removed before it was properly diagnosed. Sold to Walsall in March 1984 he went on to play for six more teams in the lower divisions before washing up back at Blackpool in 1990. Dave appeared in two successive play-off finals in the early 1990s, in the second one he scored the goal that took ‘Pool up to Division Two. Since retiring Dave, an Economics graduate has run a property development business in the seaside town.
