Jock Ramage, the older brother of Peter Ramage, was a centre half who had spent a successful 7 years at Tynecastle, before being brought south by James Kerr.

Despite his time at City being un-distinguished, he was a very popular player. Whilst playing for City at The Den, Ramage scored the opening goal against Millwall - unfortunately, The Lions went on to score 9 goals without further reply! He was forced to switch to right back, and broke his leg whilst playing in that position in December 1926 against Swindon. He only played 3 more times in 12 months, before signing for Luton. He played just 9 matches before moving back to Hearts, and then moved into the Highland League.
