Arthur Fitton was one of a number of players that served City after playing most of their early years in WBA's reserves. He made a total of 99 first team appearances for the Baggies - but only once in his last 18 months as they achieved promotion to Division 1. He dropped down to 2nd Division Manchester United, but only played 12 times in his 9 months with the club. He moved on to Preston and helped them to return to Division 1. Signed by Harry Storer, Fitton added a bit of sparkle to City's forward play, to help them rise from Division 3(S).

Prior to his death, he was game warden at Kinver National Trust Park near Kidderminster.
