Ted Watson
After playing for Sunderland during The Great War, Watson made his senior debut for Southern League Portsmouth. His stay at Fratton Park was short and he moved to Pontypridd, in the 2nd Division of The Souther League. He was spotted by Wolves as he helped his side to the final of The Welsh Cup in 1921. In his 8 years at Molineux, Watson made 206 appearances, being a first choice right back for 5 years. He missed only 1 match in Wolves Division 3(N) championship side of 1923-24. Having lost his place in 1928, Watson was signed by James Mcintyre in March 1929 as a left back to form a partnership with Laurie Crown. He made some sterling performances but injury saw him replaced by Arthur Tilford. His final appearances came as right back after Crown had retired. Once Harry Storer bought Jesse Bennett, Watson was allowed to move to Oakengates.
